Version 4.1 and 3.12 Branding Options
Please note this information applies only to SimpleHelp server versions 4.1, 3.12 and earlier. For information on how to brand the latest version please see our Branding Guide.
Changing Text in SimpleHelp Applications
All the text that is displayed within SimpleHelp is translated into a variety of languages and fully customisable. Each time a SimpleHelp application loads it queries the server for the translations file. These files are stored in the DEPLOY/translations folder of your SimpleHelp installation, and contain separate text files for all the supported translations.
For SimpleHelp 3.12 or 4.1, changes should not be made directly to the translations files. Instead, create identically named files in the configuration/translations folder and place any changed translation entries in this file. The new translations file should only contain the translation entries that have been altered.
Changes made to the text in the translations file will be picked up the next time a technician or customer enters the system.

Changing the Splash Logo and Favicon Logo
The splash logo that is shown which the customer and technician clients are loading, and the favicon shown in the address bar of your browser can be customised by replacing the following images in one of the following folders:
- SimpleHelp Server 3.12 or 4.1 - configuration/branding
- SimpleHelp Server 3.11 or earlier - DEPLOY/branding
- favicon.ico - the favourites icon that served to a querying browser.
- applet_splash.png - the splash image displayed while the client is loading.
Changing the Remote Support Application Name
By default SimpleHelp includes the operating system type, and the installer type (online or offline) in the name of the customer application. It is possible to fully configure this executable by setting the following properties in the branding.properties file in your server's configuration/branding folder. The following fields can be set:
SUPPORT_EXE_NAME | The name of the remote support file that the user downloads, by default this is "Remote Support". |
SUPPORT_EXE_NAME_KEEP_OS | Set to true to retain the operating system name on the end of the support file name, such as "MyCompany-windows32.exe". |
SUPPORT_EXE_NAME_KEEP_TYPE | Set to true to retain the type (Online/Offline) on the end of the support file name, for example "MyCompany-offline.exe". |
